I'm running across the oddest things lately. Apparently the British authorities can seize all the alcohol at unruly gatherings. From the Alcohol Concern web site:

"Drunken louts causing public nuisance could have all their booze confiscated under new police powers that come into force today.

An amendment to the Criminal Justice and Police Act 2001 will now give police the power to confiscate unopened bottles or cans of beer, wines and spirits in designated areas where people are causing a public nuisance – or are likely to do so."
