I sure hope my public likes Barry White

Because damn, we just got about 50 of the same Barry White CDs at work with this settlement. What's up with that? How much Barry White does one community need? We're going to be in a really mellow, soulful mood all the time if this keeps up.

We got some other stuff, too. I think most of it's Easter Island Reggae-Organ Grinder-Goth music. I don't mean to sound ungrateful, but it's not exactly stuff that's, well, popular. Some of it's okay, but we really don't need more than three of the same album, I wouldn't think.

But what do I know. I'm lost in PC land. PCs for Everyone! Yay!

I am putting together the computer for the children's room. I am also trying to figure out how to best set up the computer in Special Collections. I should probably use the old information computer there, and put the old reference computer in the paraprofessional's work room. The desk in special, of course, has to be really old to fit the decor, and it wasn't designed for the hulking mass of Dell that was the reference computer.

I also got blessing on my grant idea, which is to teach an advanced computer class. So I distributed surveys to the public. It's been 24 hours and I've gotten two back, which is about what I expected. I do hope for more, of course, but I'm sort of pleased someone filled one out.

It doesn't take much to make me happy, really.

Is this a misprint?

"In February approximately 68,000 Massachusetts consumers received checks for $13.86, totaling $952,847.28, as a result of the lawsuit. Nationally, the settlement returned $67 million to more than 3.5 consumers and is providing close to 5 million CDs to the participating states."

I'd like to be even half a consumer for that amount. And I wonder how much the lawyers got?

Re:Is this a misprint?

As the old joke goes, I guess it all depends on which half a consumer I'd be...
