Here are 10 key trends affecting development of the next-generation library.

2. All technology ends.

Every device and piece of technology we use today will go away and be replaced by something else that's faster, smarter, cheaper, more capable, more durable, works better and looks cooler.

I'm reminded of the joke about how NASA spent millions developing pens that could write upside down in space and the Russians just used pencils.
