Prison Library Worker Hired for Softball Skills

News of the weird today about a library employee at the Apalachee Correctional Institution. Mark Guerra, who has played minor league baseball in Venezuela, reportedly was hired to help the prison employees win a Florida Department of Corrections softball tournament.

Television fans will recall similar situations in "The Sam in the Grey Flannel Suit and "Homer at the Bat."

I applied for a job with the Florida Department of Corrections as a librarian about 18 months ago. They never hired me.... could it be because I am a more of a football (soccer) man, than a softball man?

Had I only known I would have worked on my bunting.
