Sturgis Motorcycle Rally Turning Bikers Into Bookers

The Associated Press reports a new angle on the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally. The library in downtown Sturgis is attracting some unlikely book-lovers - bikers. Some are ducking into the air-conditioned library to get away from the heat and the noise of hundreds of thundering Harleys. Library worker JoAnn Mortinson says some of the bikers are even borrowing books - with pictures of tattoos.

Non-residents are allowed to check out books with a deposit. Once the bikers get their tats done, they return the books and get their money back.

I've just emailed the library to ask whether these loans are allowed to be anonymous. If Sturgis Public Library should happen to offer anonymous lending, bookworm bikers might bring the idea home with them...
