top-level domain as controlled vocab?
Now I think I see where Grokker, powered by Yahoo!, got their focus on top-level domain. I still don't think it works that well as a controlled vocabulary. But it is interesting. Some of my results didn't make that much sense to me. The main site for Bartram's Gardens doesn't make it to the top of the heap when I set my results to "research" or "shopping". I guess it doesn't really fit either criteria? Maybe the analysis is deeper than I think.
Not top-level domain
I get .com's in my search, full-on research for innovation and technology. And organizing by top-level domain is dumb. For example, personal webpages are often hosted on .edu sites, even if they have nothing to do with research.-- Ender, Duke_of_URL
