Holy Sh!t Batman!

*LUST*    *LUST*    *LUST*    Damn, I'm afraid to go look. This is going to be expensive.-- Ender, Duke_of_URL

Re:Holy Sh!t Batman!

$2200 if you do cash on the barrel. Or you can pay $2500 in this breakdown. $1000 now and $750 next year and $750 the year after that.

From email from the company:

We are limited by contract to 5,000 sets because all his titles are still in print at the New York Publishing houses.Keep watching our site. I've been talking to the Heinlein Trust and they have agreed to also allow a monthly payment over a period of time. It will be next week till they work out the details.-- Ender, Duke_of_URL

Speaking of lust. Check out these specs on the books. The Virginia Edition will be printed on a 50# natural writer’s white acid-free paper and housed in a protective slipcase. Additionally, the dust jackets will be laminated and have an Ultra-Violet protective coating.Donato, one of the industry's finest illustrators, has accepted the commission to create the cover art for this limited Edition. Donato will be doing a series of murals that will be displayed both on the spine of the hardcover dust-jacket and the slipcases. When spined out on your shelf, the cover art will be revealed, so all who enter your library will know that you are an owner of The Virginia Edition.

Re:Holy Sh!t Batman!

OK! This totally puts my Charles Darwin collection to shame. I wouldn't even have to read the Virginia Editions, I could just line them up on the shelf and sit back in my recliner ogling them.

Re:Holy Sh!t Batman!

OOPS! Charles Dickens.

Just curious. Any individuals out there that would make this kind of purchase? I am thinking about doing it. It divides out to around $50 per book. For a hardcover book in a slip case with custom art I think that is at least fair.

I am also considering this purchase because as a librarian I have to do something with all my disposable income. Boxes of cash in the guest bedroom just isn't the best solution.
