Rare African maps stolen from S.Africa library

CNN has this story about rare maps stolen from a university library in South Africa.\"Fifteen maps were stolen on Saturday from the William Cullen Library at the University of the Witwatersrand. They are extremely rare and extremely valuable,\" Dr. Alan Crump, a professor of fine arts at the university, told Reuters.\" \"Crump said four armed men robbed the library at midday, shortly before it closed. He declined to give a value for the paintings, which were being valued by Sotheby\'s of London.\"

\"These guys are real professionals. They did not go for individual paintings. They knew exactly what they wanted,\" he said.\"

\"He said the hand-colored, engraved maps -- which were made in a number of European countries, including France and Italy -- could fetch high prices on the international market.\"
