A sad story from Santa Cruz Sentinel about a financial miscalculation which will cause the city-county library system to have to re-pay $322,000.
"The revenue miscalculation occurred after the 2000 census count resulted in an upward adjustment of 8,296 for Watsonville and a corresponding decline in the unincorporated area.

In 2001-02, Watsonville should have received 21 percent of the funding instead of 19 percent.
But for many months, no one caught the error in the finance office of the county or the library."
