Helpful Librarians Gets a Prof. off The Continent

A professor from UCLA was stuck in Ireland because of the volcano in Iceland. How did he manage to teach his class back in California? He went to an academic library. “The librarians were unfailingly helpful,” he said. “They gave me access in their reference area to e-mail. I must have spent about five to six hours on e-mail, especially with my students.”

Brilliant

I did a lot of my MS LIS from Ireland as the FSU program was distance learning and I worked for a global firm at the time.

My cousins in Cork put up my girlfriend when the ash cloud was hovering. They had a great time, they had a girls night out and spent half the weekend shopping.

Make the best of a bad situation, that is the key to living well.
