The Future of the Academic Library?

This link is to an audio conversation about a new library for a small college in Baltimore. Called the Athenaeum, it will have — in addition to books — a huge atrium/amphitheatre, a restaurant, an art gallery, treadmills and showers. Is this a harbinger of libraries to come?
