controversial practice of allowing patrons to use
computers to view obscene material on the Internet.

Signs were posted at the downtown library and will be
posted in branch libraries by Monday. The signs warn
against sending, receiving, printing or displaying text or
graphics that are in violation of Minnesota statutes
concerning obscene materials.
* Anyone wishing to use an Internet computer must
show identification before using a terminal.
* Half-hour time limits will be imposed on computer
use.
* Computers in the Children\’s Department will be for
children only, and Internet sites viewed on those
computers must be age-appropriate for children.
