Cliff Stoll 15 years later

Here is a talk by Cliff Stoll in 1996. This talk coincided with the release of his book: Silicon Snake Oil: Second Thoughts on the Information Highway He mentions libraries several times. His talk is about the Internet so it is inherently about information technology. He makes several predictions about computing in 5/10/15 years. You can see how they held up.


If you go to 28:30 in the video you can hear Cliff's Story about the Hayes Hall bells. He mentions the inscription on the bells. What he ends up reading is from the large bell and the 4th bell. He doesn't seem to get the language exactly right. I assume he tried to write this down from memory and made some mistakes.
