City asks local colleges to help fund public library

Interesting Idea Worcester city councilors who want colleges in the city to help pay for the municipal services they use may have a solution.

Councilor Philip Palmieri said on Monday that he and some colleagues think the city should ask colleges to help financially support the Worcester Public Library.

He says the library would be an ideal municipal operation for the colleges to aid because the library fits with the educational mission of colleges.
