I manage so many domain names now it could easily happen to me. I can see how it would be very easy for this to happen to a library as well. I have such a fear of this happening I check once a month, even though every January I renew almost everything for the coming year.
  
  So while I'll agree this was a rather careless mistake, I feel really bad, and I see how easily this can happen.

  ( http://waltcrawford.name/ | Last Journal: Wednesday October 17, @06:29PM ) As far as I know, my registrar works on an opt-out basis: That is, as long as they have a current credit card #, they'll renew automatically unless I tell them not to (and yes, there's an advance email). At least that's how it worked this year...comforting, that, especially since they're a relatively cheap registrar (1&1). [ Reply to This | Parent ]
