AASL Adopts ‘School Librarian’ As Official Term for the Profession

Forget media specialist or teacher-librarian. As far as the American Association of School Librarians (AASL) is concerned, the official title for the profession is now school librarian.

Thank God for the school librairans! Finally, someone wants to use the word "Librarian" to describe their field. I'm so tired of people wanting to hide what they do behind "media consultant". ("Media Consultant" always made me think of an extra in the play by Euripides, who consults with "Media" on how to kill her own children in order to hurt her husband)
